Excerpt
1. INTRODUCTION The inherited disorders of blood coagulation present providers of health and social care with formidable problems. The disorders are eminently treatable, even in their severest form. Untreated, they result in chronic incapacity and handicap by early adult life, and in premature death. So whilst proper treatment is expensive, inadequate treatment is even more so, both to individuals and their families and to the community.
